Installation and Maintenance
INSTALLATION
Koby
Air Purifiers and related products are completely disposable and are
virtually maintenance free. Units are installed directly to air operated
equipment, or to existing air line, using standard NPT pipe fittings.
When direct installation to equipment is not possible, install after
regulator before air hose.
A
general bowl-type air line filter or Koby Mainline Unit should be installed
before purifier to remove bulk liquid water and oil. (See Below.) These
impurities, if not removed, will greatly impair the adsorption capacity
of activated carbon in purifier.

WHEN
TO REPLACE - General Non-Hazardous Applications
For
best results, Koby Air Purifiers, Vacuum Pump In-Line Air Purifiers,
Noise Muffler Air Purifiers, and related products, should be replaced
according to specified recommended replacement when used to remove oil
mist, oil vapor, droplets of oil and water, fine particles and other
general contaminants. When used to remove obnoxious odors, tastes, solvent
vapors, and similar contaminants, replace immediately when a noticeable
odor is detected on purifier discharge. When used only to trap solid
particles, pipe scale, rust, sediments, dust, etc., replace every six
months from date of installation. To insure proper replacement, record
date installed, and when to replace on product label.
WHEN
TO REPLACE - Hazardous Applications
When
removing dangerous, organic and inorganic contaminants from laboratory
compressed air or vacuum air, periodic testing of outward air quality
is recommended. Purifiers and related products should be replaced when
outward air quality reaches an unacceptable condition or exceeds permissible
exposure levels.
